A state level consultation in Inclusive Education was organised organised by CSEI, NEG-FIRE, PJS and TISS held at Hotel Maurya, Patna with almost 50 people participating in the same. SCERT director with his team, a UNICEF consultant, educationists from Bihar, Professors from Education Dept, Patna Women's College, Principal Xavier college of Education, St. Xavier’s College, Digha, Padmashri. Sr Sudha Varghese from Nari Gunjan, NEGO representitives and 13 teachers representing teachers from three districts (Rohtas, Gaya and West Champaran) were present.
There was a presentation of the Inclusive Module done by Ms. Annie and Satendra, the Government school teachers who attended training that was piloted shared their experiences.
The facilitation of the Open Discussion and Strategy Building by Prof Pushpendra Kumar ensured that we had inputs from everyone. The SCERT also expressed that they will be happy to collaborate and provide an open space for engaging and building this module further. Every one agreed that there is a need to do further work and that a small working group can be constituted to take this forward. Organisations/ members who are willing to be part of the working group are - SCERT, St Xaviers, UNICEF, Patna Women's College and CSEI, NEG, PJS and TISS.
