The Patna Jesuit Youth Ministry and Bihar AICUF jointly organized MAGIS PATNA 2025 from 20th to 23rd October 2025 at St. Michael’s High School, Patna. This year’s theme, “Be the Light of Hope,” inspired 240
enthusiastic participants to journey together in faith, reflection, and action.
A Spirit-Filled Beginning
Preparation for MAGIS 2025 began in the last week of August with the formation of a dedicated Core Team and group of volunteers. This year was particularly special because the youth themselves took the lead —
planning, organizing, and animating the entire event under the guidance and motivation of the Patna Jesuit Youth Ministry.
The program opened with a lighting of a lamp, an introduction by
Fr. A. Prakash SJ, Chairperson of PJYM and a meaningful Inaugural Session, during which
Fr. Jose Thayil, SJ addressed and blessed the participants, encouraging them to live the spirit of MAGIS — “the more” in service and love. The Inaugural Holy Eucharistic
Celebration was presided over by
Most Rev. Sebastian Kallupura, Archbishop of Patna, who invited the young people to become true bearers of hope in today’s world.
Days of Reflection, Fellowship, and Growth
Over four days, the MAGIS experience unfolded around carefully chosen themes:
- Day 1: Inauguration & Spiritual Foundation
- Day 2: Social Responsibility & Technology
- Day 3: Spiritual Deepening & Personal Growth
- Day 4: Action Plans & Closure
Participants engaged in group discussions, a students’ panel, and the deeply enriching MAGIS Circle — small group spiritual conversations that fostered honest sharing and discernment. The Sacrament of Confession, a
candlelight Rosary procession, and moments of personal reflection helped deepen the spiritual experience.
This year also saw the joyful introduction of Zumba sessions, which energized participants and celebrated the unity of body, mind, and spirit through movement and music.
A Grateful Heart
The success of MAGIS PATNA 2025 was made possible through the collaboration and generosity of many. We extend heartfelt thanks to the St. Michael’s Jesuit Community and School staff for their warm hospitality and
meticulous arrangements. Special gratitude goes to the St. Xavier’s Gandhi Maidan Community, Ara Jesuit Community, Aurangabad Jesuit Community, and Xavier Bhawan Community for their constant support and
presence.
As MAGIS 2025 concluded, the young participants left renewed in spirit, strengthened in fellowship, and inspired to “Be the Light of Hope” in their communities, families, and the world.
