Of late the Jesuits of Bihar are engaged in improving the quality of education in the state by affecting the teaching environment in a few selected government schools where children from the most marginalised community of Bhuiya-Musahars study. Recently the province Coordinator for Education, Norbert Menezis, SJ visited a couple of government schools in Barachatti block of Gaya districts. In Sherghati block alone the Jesuits are closely associated with 13 government schools, while in the whole state they are engaged in supporting the teaching learning processes of over 100 schools.
