Patna Jesuit Society through its unit Jeevan Sangham, Dumuhan, Bodhgaya, has been engaged in empowering the Musahar community through various innovative education programmes. In Gaya district which has the highest number of Musahar population in Bihar, the Jesuits are supplementing the quality of education of many Mushars in the most unreachable areas such as Barachatti. In Gaya district alone the Jesuits are reaching out to over 1500 Musahar children as direct beneficiaries in Sherghatti, Barachatti and other blocks.
